Lendl Simmons ruled out from IPL 2016 due to an injury.

New Zealand opener Martin Guptill is replacing Lendl Simmons for MI squad for the rest of IPL 2016.

Lendl Simmons was suffering from a back injury from the beginning of ICC WT20 2016. He was ruled out from the WT20 2016 at first but later he made a comeback in the West Indies squad after replacing injured Darren Fletcher and played match against India in Semi final and makes his team way to final of WT20 2016.

Guptill has not played in the IPL before while Simmons debut in the IPL 2014 for Mumbai Indians. Simmons has played 22 matches for Mumbai Indians he scored 942 runs with the average of 47.1. Simmons has 1 century and 9 half-centuries for Mumbai Indians in IPL.
