The MNS film wing has sent across a letter to the Fox Star Entertainment, the producers of the film asking them not to go ahead with the Marathi dubbed version
“By dubbing such movies in Marathi you are creating competition for local films, which are already facing problems. A Maharashtrian, as it is, follows Hindi. If he wants to see the film, he can watch it in Hindi.”
So said Ameya Khopkar, president of the Maharashtra Navnirman Chitrapat Karmachari Sena (MNCKS) in reference to the upcoming MS Dhoni biopic (MS Dhoni: The Untold Story) that is to be dubbed in Marathi. MNCKS is the film wing of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS).
Filmmaker Neeraj Pandey’s upcoming biopic MS Dhoni – The Untold Story, which was set to be dubbed in Marathi, earlier said that he is excited with the local release as the regional language film industry is booming.
The film based on Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, has already been dubbed in Tamil and Telugu. This would be the first time a Hindi biopic is getting a Marathi release.
“The love for MS Dhoni in this country is unparalleled. Through this film, our effort is to show his life, his journey, his struggle… The regional language film industry is booming and the set of audiences seeing local language content is fairly different than those watching Hindi cinema,” Pandey said in a statement.
This is not a valid point from the MNS side, if they want to save their domestic movies then put efforts to make them better don’t make any objections like that.
If film maker wants to dubbed in specific language then it was good for that state is that film makers dubbed movies specially for their state people.
This just a publicity drama by the MNS.
