Supreme Court of India has quashed the complaint filed against MS Dhoni for his portrayal as ‘Lord Vishnu’ in a magazine three years ago.
“I am very happy that the court has finally taken the right stance today, that particular picture hurts hindu sentiments. Not just mine, but of several others as well. Even if he was asked to do it, he shouldn’t have gone ahead with it, considering his influential position,” Mr. Shyam Suner, a very high profile leader, who had issued the warrant against Dhoni, had said earlier.
In 2014, the Delhi High Court directed to record a statement of a man who had issued a complaint against Dhoni, accusing him of indulging in insulting Hindu religion.
