ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC Joined Manchester United a boost by suggesting he could retire from international football after Euro 2016.

Ibrahimovic is expected join United following his involvement in the tournament. But Sweden are also involved in the 2016 Olympics in Rio and the 34-year-old was expected to be selected as an overage player. The football at the Olympics runs from August 3-20 meaning if he played he would miss the beginning of the Premier League season.

Manchester United kick off the campaign in the Community Shield on August 7 against Leicester and play Bournemouth and Southampton on the 13th and 20th.So if Ibrahimovic did compete in Brazil he would miss three games and most of pre season.

Sweden are currently third in Group E after a draw with Ireland and a defeat to Italy, and play Belgium tomorrow night. But with only one point they are unlikely to qualify for the knockout rounds unless they beat the Red Devils.

Ibrahimovic’s contract with PSG expires at the end of this month and he is reportedly already booked in for a medical with United having agreed a one-year deal.United boss Jose Mourinho has already begun his summer overhaul with a move for Eric Bailly who joined from Villarreal in a deal worth £30m.

Ibrahimovic is expected to be next in while moves for another defender and a midfielder are in the pipeline.
